The Land
The estate features a generous amount of cultivated land and an internal road system that has been well maintained to ensure easy access to all areas of the estate. The surrounding landscape of the estate is an important asset due to the lovely tree lined white streets, native vegetation and proximity to nearby trees and wooded areas adding to the overall appeal of the surroundings and beauty of the landscape. The Palagio Estate, with more than 70,000 sqft of developed buildings, features a mix of residential and commercial real estate. The residencial areas feature 4 buildings complexes, some of them are “Ginestrelle” which is an ancient 18th century builiding style and architecturally pleasing with stone walls and old-Tuscan architecture, stunning views in an idyllic location. The Palagio palace is well placed within the estate and features a neoclassic design with an Italian garden, a private consecrated Chapel and fresco paintings in many of the rooms. From a commercial point of view there is also the Production Facility Complex that consists of 3 buildings.
Wine Production Facility
The Palagio estate features a recently updated production facility with industrial machinery. The RE portion was built in 1997 and since has been consistantly updated with state of the art machinery. During the harvest, the wines is vinificated with a slow pellicular-cold-dynamic-maceration using the “Ganimede” method in order to increase the complexity of the taste and to increase the extraction of the aromas.
Vineyards
The vineyards, that consists of approximately 200 acres, feature the desirable IGT and DOCG denomination. The vines were originally cultivated with the classic Guyot approach and have been converted to the Cordon spur method.
Wine, Olive & Walnut Trees
In 2018 the Palagio winery produced around 911 US ton of grapes, 5,975 Hl of wine and 800,000 bottles of wine. The estate produces 19 wines, organized in 2 product lines, one premium and the other one standard for large-scale retail trade. The olive and walnut trees sit near the top of the vineyards. Olive trees: 2,506 plants, 25 acres Walnut Trees: 22 acres.
