A message from Engel & Volkers CEO Sven Odia for Ukraine.
I am sure you are as appalled as I am by the news that has been reaching us from Ukraine over the past week. A war in Europe, for many of us so close to our own doorstep, is something that was hard to imagine until very recently. It breaks my heart to think of the suffering of families who are being torn apart, uncertain when and whether they will see each other again. Our thoughts are with the people on the ground, and we continue to follow the events and developments as they unfold with great concern.
At Engel & Völkers, we have colleagues who are affected both directly and indirectly by this war. To each of them we express our deepest sympathy and solidarity. We are in close touch with those impacted at our headquarters and are making efforts to offer them all the help they need on an individual basis. We stand in solidarity with all those who wish to live in freedom and peace and condemn violations of human rights and international law in any form.
In our position as a successful company, we want to make a contribution and help wherever we can. With this in mind, we have made a donation of 100,000 euros in total, to four aid organizations, pledging 25,000 euros to each. We also recommended these four charities to our employees who wish to donate.
We are such a large network and have the capability to achieve a great deal together. Therefore, I now turn to you. If you also feel compelled to make a donation, you will find the list of organizations we have chosen below. Of course, please also feel free to donate to a charity of your own choosing. Please do check beforehand though that you are donating to a legitimate official charity.
Let us stand together as the Engel & Völkers family and help together.
